It has become popular due to the large number of Cubans who have migrated to the United States, precisely because the largest percentage is concentrated in these cities. In Cuba, in general, they serve it, but not in the traditional way, with all the ingredients it has since it is more popular to find their versions. It is also easily found in Latin American countries such as Colombia and Panama, as well as in Europe, mainly in Spain.
In these places, it is consumed with great acceptance, because besides being delicious, it is considered the most complete fast food, present on the menus of cafeterias and kiosks. In Europe, specifically in Spain, it is served as a Cuban sandwich with a fried egg. There are different varieties of this recipe, depending on the country or city where it is prepared, but its origin is still thanks to Cuban immigrants in the United States. In part of Tampa, Florida, for example, due to the Italian influence, they decided to add salami.
